| The Aesthetics Institute In 1985 the Oregon College of Electrology and Thermology was founded in Downtown Portland by Cynthia Mendoza. After a few years of operation the college changed its name to the International College of Electrology and Thermology with the new opening of a satellite college in Bilboa, Spain. It was through guest lecturing conducted by Ms. Mendoza in the late 80’s that she discovered the curriculum for esthetics and nail technology to be lacking in technology, skills, and the sciences. As a result of her observations, Ms. Mendoza decided to develop a curriculum and include esthetics and nail technology to her college. In an effort to better represent the college the name was changed to the Aesthetics Institute. In 1997 Ms. Mendoza moved the Aesthetics Institute to the SE neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. Today the Aesthetics Institute continues to thrive in its efforts to promote a higher education. |
